BRAKE PADS
GENERAL INFORMATION

Project Mu line offer 16 different kinds of pads in order to meet a lot of customer's expectations. These pads are made by compunding 10 different kinds of materials and give the maximum performance according to applications. For U.S. market, we offer 3 different types of pads. Others can be special order.

All the Project mu pads are asbestos free (0% of asbestos).

Asbestos Free

Project Mu always try to reduce the manufacture cost, take into the consideration about environmental problems completely, make 0% of harmful asbestos, and always develop the new material which leads higher safety and sporty.

Carbon Metal

Carbon metal has high braking power and eases the offense to rotor disk, therefore, it contribute the compatibility with long life of high performance and rotor disk.

Sintering Metal

This is used exclusively for race field. It makes sensitive control available besides outstanding endurance and toward (brake) fade. It has brake control stability and elastic pedal touch at full braking.

Resin, Aramid Fiber, Carbon Fiber, Nano-Carbon, Ceramic Fiber, Ceramic powder, Steel fiber, Copper fiber, Rubber, Cashew dust, and etc.

Remove dust due to intense friction

Gas generates when material, which contains from brake pad friction, burns at high temperature and this prevents the effect of brake in the space between pad and rotor. This is called as fade phenomenon. Slit, which is installed at the sensor of brake pad, remove the gas and pad waste efficiently and keep the stable braking power to all model.

Chamber cut which controls unpleasant noise

Unpleasant noise occurs at braking when pad has angle. In order to prevent this, the Project Mu pads are shaved angled (called chaber cut), which control the unpleasant noise.

It may occur the brake noise due to resonance due to changing rotors for many year, judder, brake dust, corrosion, and weather.

Excessive quenching is not necessary

Project Mu brake pads have been heat processed in advance; therefore, quenching is necessary only when manufacturing. It can control the occurrence of gas, which is the cause of the fade since it burns out the unnecessary material. You can use with confidence only with flattening after purchase.

* Caution: The increase of temperature of brake pad damages the braking performance. Please do not increase the temperature on purpose.

Strong back plate, which prevents from bend

The Performance, which we look for on the back plate, is not defeat the strong pressure of piston and no to bend. Once it bending, the part of the friction chips out and serious accidents might occur. Steel usually used for back plate, however, Project Mu use the steel plate, which upgrade the strength by 20% genuine proportion and secure the full strength. Furthermore, ceremics is coated on the reverse side of the back plate and prevents the transmission of the temperature of brake fluid for the racing sintered back plate
